SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER CIRCULAR PLASTICS

LOCATION Utrecht
EDUCATION TYPE university (wo)
TYPE Vacancies
HOURS A WEEK Fulltime – 40

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
You will be responsible for heading major research programmes (including Horizon 2020) in which chemical and recycling companies and knowledge institutions jointly develop new technologies for the reuse of plastics. You will be focusing on the quality of the recycled materials and the sustainability of the circular processes compared to existing processes. You will be responsible for successful collaboration between project partners and coordination with commissioning parties. You will be considered a fully-fledged discussion partner by stakeholders, one who can contribute to solutions for their challenges. Project teams cover various fields of expertise (technical, economic, policy and behavioural scientists).

WHAT DO WE REQUIRE OF YOU?
You should have experience with the project management of large, interdisciplinary projects and excellent communication skills. You should have a relevant educational background, such as in chemical technology, and high affinity with plastic circularity. You should be persuasive and able to provide direction to mid-level and junior employees. You should have or be able to develop a national and international network among customers and knowledge institutions and be eager to play a key role in acquisition processes.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT OF YOUR WORK SITUATION?
The function falls under the Climate, Air & Sustainability research group, which is part of the Circular Economy & Environment Unit. The research group looks for solutions to issues around sustainability, resource efficiency, climate change and air quality, while keeping account of economic, social and technological developments and how these affect energy supply, industrial production and urban environments.

We are able to quantify and compare the environmental impact of production processes and product chains. TNO is thus able to support companies and public authorities on their way to sustainability. We also advise companies on strategic choices to make their product portfolio more sustainable. TNO works both for national and international clients.

WHAT CAN TNO OFFER YOU?
Work enjoyment means something different for each employee. This is why we offer a-la-carte terms and conditions of employment that you can switch around on a monthly basis. Flexible working hours (like 4 days x 9 hours) and different leave schemes mean that you can create a package attuned to your specific wishes.

TNO attaches great value to both your personal and your professional development. Many opportunities exist for you to develop: conferences, courses, workshops, coaching, intervision, mentoring and job rotation. At TNO you can orchestrate your own career.

APPLICATION PROCESS
You can apply till the 13th of January 2019. The first round of interviews is scheduled on the 22nd of January and the second round of interviews is scheduled on the 31st of January. The process comprises at least two (selection) rounds. After a positive selection, we will finish off the process by discussing terms and conditions of employment. We try to complete the interviews and assessment within 4 weeks.
